manateeA few miles east of Belize City, your speed boat will stop by the mangroves of Swallow Caye, in the natural habitat and reserve of the docile and magnificent manatee, or sea cow as it is sometimes called.

The gentle giant, related to the elephant, has survived well in Belize, because of our strong protection laws. The manatee can come right up to your boat and swim underneath. Cameras are a good idea!

After Swallow Caye, boat through the mangrove corridors of the Drown Caye Range. Look out for birdlife, from Herons to Swooping Kingfishers, and the endangered Osprey. After your wildlife encounter, we will take you over to Belize City for duty free shopping and a delicious Belizean lunch at the Harbour View restaurant.
